Counterspill evolved out of “Spill-over” -- a film project about corporate PR spin around oil spills.

John QuigleyCo-FounderJohn Quigley is an internationally known Artist, Producer, and Activist. For the past two decades he has created projects on behalf of forests, oceans, freedom, peace, indigenous rights, and climate issues while working with many of the leading non-governmental organizations in the world. In addition to his work on Counterspill he currently serves as the Global Campaign for Climate Action’s bridge to the entertainment industry in Los Angeles.

Jon VidarExecutive DirectorJon Vidar is a new media innovator whose projects have been recognized by SXSW, the Gracies, the Interactive Media Council, and the New Media Institute. Whether he is working on an archaeological excavation in rural Turkey, teaching multimedia in Iraq or Rwanda, or shedding light on the energy disasters of our time, Jon is committed to telling stories that would otherwise go unheard.

Victoria FineManaging EditorVictoria Fine is an award-winning journalist who works to reinvent the nexus of great journalism and worthy causes. As the managing editor of Causecast, she oversees Huffington Post Impact, Education, and a variety of other cause-related media. She has worked both domestically and as far abroad as South Africa and Iraq to promote new ways of telling stories and positively change our generation’s imprint on the world.

Carly GillisAssociate Editor / Chief DiggerCarly Gillis is a journalist, content manager and avid media literacy advocate. Her work reflects a passion for advocacy journalism, startup companies and new media. In 2010, she co-founded LAActivist.com, an online news media outlet dedicated to the unbiased reporting of activism in southern California, and uses her past experience as an associate editor for The Huffington Post to write and edit its articles. Carly also works for Classical KUSC -- a non-profit classical music station in Los Angeles -- as a writer and interactive content manager.

Jessica YurasekCreative DirectorJessica Yurasek is a Creative Strategist and Art Director. She has worked with other socially conscious organizations including The Tiziano Project to promote truth through storytelling using social and new media platforms. Jessica earned a Master’s from the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism with concentrations in brand and social media strategy and transmedia storytelling.

Dan O’ConnorCreative DirectorDan O’Connor is co-founder of Impro Theatre and San Francisco’s Bay Area Theatresports. He has an extensive career that spans performing Off Broadway and on television, to co-creating the NBC/PAX television improv comedy show “World Cup Comedy,” to directing the critically acclaimed ABC hybrid sit-com “Sons and Daughters” and “Campus Ladies” for the Oxygen Network. He currently teaches improvisation and consults for Cirque du Soleil and Dreamworks Animation, while directing Shakespeare UnScripted and co-directing Sondheim UnScripted as part of UnScripted Rep at the Odyssey Theatre.

Christine DurenDevelopment DirectorChristine has over fourteen years non-profit administration, finance, management, business planning, and fundraising experience. Prior to her non-profit career she spent over eleven years in retail and corporate banking. Her work has included many meaningful causes including the arts, animal welfare, and the environment.

Nadine Farid JohnsonGeneral CounselNadine Farid Johnson is an attorney with over twelve years of legal experience. She has worked in the public and private sectors and in academia, focusing largely in U.S. and international intellectual property law and policy. Nadine has a longstanding commitment to social justice issues, having worked with a number of advocacy and outreach organizations.
